DENTON (UNT), Texas — Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away, and University of North Texas Chef Wanda White, who oversees meals in UNT’s all-vegan cafeteria Mean Greens, is available for interviews to discuss Thanksgiving dinner preparation for omnivores and vegans alike.
“Whether you’re planning to have turkey or tofu for Thanksgiving, preparing early can help make the day more manageable,” White said. “Some dishes can be prepared days in advance, and some of the work, like chopping all your vegetables, can also be done early. You want the day to be fun, and you want to enjoy spending time with your friends and family.”
UNT’s Mean Greens cafeteria opened in 2011 as the nation’s first all-vegan university dining hall.
White can be reached at Wanda.White@unt.edu or 940-565-2034.
